Provincial Rounds are held throughout the country. Auditions for the Provincial Rounds can be done by means of two options:
• Live auditions: 3 Venues to select from. Participants will receive their results on the day by our adjudicators
• Video auditions: Video Auditions can be submitted via WHATSAPP (072 402 9082). Participants will receive their results via e-mail.
Successful participants proceed to the National Round.
SATCH 10TH National Round 2019 will be hold: 22 – 27 September 2019 at Sorex Estate, Centurion.
Contestants of Satch Nationals 2018 who received Silver/Gold medals has exemption from provincials. They need to complete the online exemption form and pay the respective admin fee (R250.00) on or before the 30 June 2019 to qualify for the National Round.
All national Gold Medal Winners from 2018 qualify for our Interntational round at the TALENT & MODEL Expo in DALLAS, TEXAS from 25-30th June 2019.
• Video Performances are limited to 60-90 seconds per performance. Max time limit is 90 seconds for all items.
• Items can be performed in Afrikaans or English.
• It does not have to be a professionally recorded Video Clip, but the background must be plain, preferably a white wall so that the performance can be seen very clearly.
• Make sure that the light does not shine from the back of the participant.
• Only items in the SAME Category can be done on 1 Video Clip (for judging purposes).
• Categories may not be mixed onto 1 Video Clip.
• Before each item is recorded, the participant must write his/her name, surname, age, category and genre VERY CLEARLY on a piece of paper/board with a marker pen and hold it in front of them so that it is visible to the adjudicators, as well as announcing clearly their name, surname, age, category and genre before each item is performed in order for the adjudicators to also hear who the participant is.
• All Video Clips need to be submitted before the closing date.
• The results of the Video Auditions will be finalized by 30 June 2019 and participants will receive their results via e-mail.
It is very important that all participants adhere to the rules and regulations regarding clothing/costumes. These guidelines are applicable to all categories, genres and age groups.
NO two-piece costumes and no open tummies will be allowed. Make use of a flesh colored body suit to wear underneath any open costumes. NO revealing or translucent clothing/costumes are allowed. Strategic places must be covered at all times - NO low neckline, revealing bust, open tummy area, high cut/semi g-string will be allowed. Body suits under costumes will be allowed in the case of two piece dance costumes.
For the swimwear genre, models may not wear any shoes, and must do their modeling routine barefoot. This applies to all ages. NO two piece costumes may be worn. Only one piece costumes are allowed, and tummies may not be partially or completely revealed. Only board shorts are allowed for all male participants. No speedos and any other hot pants are allowed to be worn.
Kindly note not adhering to the rules of clothing will unfortunately result in disqualification for your specific item of performance by our panel of judges.
Participants agrees to abide by the following rules and regulations by entering any Provincial/National/International Rounds:
1. Good Sportsmanship:
No person/s (i.e. participants, parent/s of participants, spectators, guests or any third parties) who are attending the Provincial / National Round / International Rounds shall be permitted to interfere with the judges and/or organizers of the competition.
We regularly update our Facebook page, website www.satch.co.za and send bulk emails/sms to SATCH nationals entries. It is your responsibility to ensure that your contact details are correct and to stay in touch with our admin department email@example.com in case of any changes.
3. Official Program:
During our National Round, an official program is put together. A preliminary program will be sent to all performers. For any incorrect information or changes on the preliminary program kindly complete the on-line “Time Change Request” form. Ensure that all information is correct i.e. correct age of the participant, individual unique numbers, correct performance information (genres) etc.
It is very important that all participants adhere to the rules and regulations regarding clothing/costumes. NO two-piece costumes and NO open tummies will be allowed. Make use of a flesh coloured body suit to wear underneath any open costumes.
NO revealing clothing/costumes are allowed. This applies to all categories.
Kindly note not adhering to the rules of clothing will unfortunately result in disqualification for your specific item of performance by our panel of judges. Participants will be disqualified if they wear revealing clothing or portray negative messages in their item/s.
The use of any kind of suggestive language and/or swearing is prohibited. Items must be age appropriate for all categories. If you are not sure whether the song lyrics, or acting piece/s are appropriate, then you are welcome to contact our office to confirm by sending us an email to firstname.lastname@example.org.
Items can be performed in Afrikaans and/or English. Ensure that you select the correct category.
If a participant wishes to make use of props, then he/she must please supply the props themselves. A participant must be able to carry his/her props on and off the stage him/herself, all at once, otherwise he/she will be penalized. No setup and take down time is allowed for props in any of the categories, besides the instrument category.
7. Time Limits For Performances:
• Solo’s, Duets, Trio’s & Quartets: Performances are limited to 90 seconds per performance in Vocal, Dance, Acting and Instruments categories.
• Small, Medium and Large Groups: Performances are limited to 2 minutes per performance in Vocal, Dance, Acting and Instruments categories.
• All participants taking part in the modeling category walk the ramp once for each of their modeling routines.
There will be strict monitoring of time limits and participants WILL BE stopped if their performances exceed the abovementioned times.
8. Accompanying Music (Backtracks):
For Provincial competitions, all music must be on a USB (no CD's allowed). Mark USB very clearly with the contestant number, name, age, category and genre. All music can be on 1 USB, but please ensure that every item on the USB is clearly marked with the contestant number, category and genre (i.e. 12547: Vocal - Gospel).
All backtracks must be recorded to stop at the required time limits - NO exceptions will be allowed.
Please kindly hand your USB in at the music booth when you arrive at the venue in order to streamline the program.
Make sure that you always bring along backups.
For Nationals, all music must be submitted online to the link provided on the website. Kindly ensure that all the details are entered correctly and that you adhere to the required time limits. If you exceed the time limits, you will not be able to upload your music.
MP3 and WAV files will be accepted.
Please make sure that you bring along a backup version on USB.
No Model will be allowed do bring his/her own backtrack music. A playlist for the modelling category will be provided.
9. Genre Descriptions:

The judging in the acting section will be based projection, articulation, characterisation, wit, confidence, believability and stage usage.
Only carry-on props that are quick and easy to maneuver will be allowed. No animals or extra participants will be permitted.
All participants who have entered for the commercial genre, may either choose one of the online commercial scripts, or prepare their own commercial script. Commercials may not be longer than 20 seconds.
The use of any kind of bad and/or suggestive language, swearing and negative remarks will not be tolerated and performers who do not adhere strictly to this rule, do stand the risk of having their item/s disqualified. Kindly avoid themes such as Harry Potter/ witches/dragons/Halloween/corruption/Aids/Rape/Drugs/Suicide/Abuse/Retrenchments/Fear Factor/Terrorism/Bombings. These topics will result in disqualification by our panel of judges. Keep in mind that there are young children in the audience.
Judging will be based on dancing ability, audience appeal, stage presence, and appropriateness of costume.
No revealing and translucent dance costumes are allowed and no tummies may show. Strategic places must be covered at all times during your dance routine (NO low neckline, revealing bust, open tummy area, high cut/semi g-string) will be allowed for any dance routine. Keep your dance costumes tasteful and age appropriate at all times. Body suits under costumes will be allowed in the case of two piece dance costumes. Keep stage makeup tasteful and to a minimum, and also age appropriate.
Kindly note inappropriate clothing will result in disqualification of your specific item of performance by our panel of judges.
The judging in the instrumental section will be based on intonation, rhythm, timbre, instrument handling overall technique and stage presence.
There will be an upright piano available and not a grand piano, for all performers performing piano items. A drum kit
(Tama Superstar Drums) will be available on stage. Performers may not bring their own drums/drum kits, as this
requires unnecessary set up and take down time. All other instruments and stands must be provided by the participants themselves.

Judging will be based on poise, posture, personality, projection, runway techniques, and your ability to walk and turn gracefully. Judging for the swimwear modelling category will be based on high energy, muscle tone, and overall physical fitness.
Each contestant will walk the length of the stage one time only. No dancing or constant posing are permitted. Standard upbeat runway music will be provided.
Models that have entered for the swimwear genre, may not wear any shoes, and must do their modeling routine barefoot. This applies to all ages. NO two piece costumes may be worn. Only one piece costumes are allowed, and tummies may not be partially or completely revealed. Models will be disqualified if they do not adhere to this rule. Only board shorts are allowed for all male participants. No speedos and any other hot pants are allowed to be worn.

There will be a Yamaha Keyboard available, should any participant performing a vocal items require the use of one to accompany their vocal item/s. NO headsets are allowed to be worn.
15. Additional Fees:
All travel and accommodation costs, entry fees and expenses are for the participant’s own expense.
Due to the upfront nature of event costs entry fees are non-refundable. We have a uniform policy that registration fees are non-refundable and non-transferable. This policy stays in effect whether you are injured, have an unexpected business trip, family emergency, illness, pregnancy, etc. We know that plans change and unexpected things come up, but we feel it is most fair to apply a uniform policy to all, instead of an arbitrary line of who merits a refund and who doesn’t.
